Important Yard Update – Temporary Closure
Due to the recent strangles outbreak spreading in the Lincolnshire area, we have made the decision to temporarily close our yard to the public. This is a precautionary measure to protect our own horses, our clients' horses, and any visiting horses that would normally come for arena hires, clinics, and lessons
.What this means:
Arena hires – temporarily closed for bookings
Private lessons – temporarily closed for bookings
Clinics – temporarily closed for bookings
Livery - temporarily closed for new arrivals
We understand this may cause inconvenience, but the health and safety of our horses and clients is our top priority
.What is Strangles? Strangles is a highly contagious bacterial infection that affects a horse's upper respiratory tract. It spreads easily through direct horse-to-horse contact or indirectly through shared equipment, clothing, or even people who have handled an infected horse. Symptoms can include fever, nasal discharge, coughing, and swollen lymph nodes.
Our Prevention Measures: No horses are showing any signs of illness, and we do not have any confirmed or suspected cases of strangles in our yard.
We are limiting all external contact to reduce any risk of exposure.
We are maintaining strict hygiene and biosecurity protocols — including regular disinfection of equipment and facilities, and ensuring all horses and visitors remain safe and healthy.
We will continue to monitor the situation closely and reopen as soon as it's safe to do so. Thank you for your understanding and support in helping us keep every horse safe.
